The first part of recovery from a tummy tuck is around two weeks long. During this time, you will have a drain placed into your abdomen to help drain any fluids from the incision site and to make sure that you avoid any infection. Also during this time, your doctor will keep a close eye on you in order to make sure that your body is properly healing and that your skin is tightening.
