A perforator flap is a type of reconstruction using the fatty layer and the skin layer along with its perforating blood supply xxx to that tissue. Most commonly it is used for breast reconstruction whether choosing a deep inferior upper gastric perforator flap which is using the fat and skin of the lower abdomen and to reconstruct the breast or other free flaps perforator flaps for reconstruction including tissue glutal region whether it’s inferior glutal perforator flap or superior glutal perforator flap. There are also flaps from the groin area using the perforator just above the muscle of the inner thigh to name a few.
