Botox and Dysport
Botox is the most common non-invasive procedure to reduce the appearance of fine lines and smoothen out crow’s feet, frown lines, lines under the eyes, neck lines, drooping noses and lines around the lips. According to a recent study by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Botox treatments has increased to 8 percent in 2012 in comparison to 2011. Apart from facial rejuvenation, Botox is also currently in demand in treating migraine headaches, eyelid spasms and excessive sweating disorders. Dysport is also derived from the same substance as Botox, the Botulinum Toxin A. Dysport is often used for clients who wish to see quick results; the positive effects of Botox are often seen after 7 days while Dysport smoothes out wrinkles in 3 to 4 days.
Radiesse
Apart from treating vocal cord paralysis, Radiesse is primarily used as a soft tissue enhancer and facial line filler. This injectable is derived from smooth calcium hydroxylapatite(CaHA) microspheres and is commonly used to fill in and plump up the nasolabial folds and the “marionette lines” in the chin area and around the mouth. Results last between 12 to 18 months.
Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm
These injectables are all derived from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body responsible for providing volume to your skin. Restylane is preferred in reducing the appearance of fine lines around the upper and lower eyelids because of its small particle size. It is also used in softening smile and frown lines as well as fill in acne scars. Perlane, on the other hand, is often used to treat moderate to severe wrinkles situated between the nose and lips. For deeper folds and wrinkles, Juvederm is preferred. It is also used in adding volume to the upper face.
