Renuva contains the growth factors, collagen, and other proteins that are naturally occurring in fat, and after injection, the body responds by producing additional fat cells in the treatment area, eliminating the need for invasive fat removal, and offering natural-looking results. Renuva is quickly becoming a favorite among doctors and patients alike, because of its quick and simple application.

showAbout the Aging Process
The contours of our faces and other areas of the body are formed in part by stores of adipose tissue, or fat. As we age, these areas of adipose tissue begin to atrophy, and with decreasing supplies of collagen and other connective tissues, these areas inevitably succumb to the constant pull of gravity. This is commonly seen in the face, where the many individual fat pads that form the contours of our face begin to decrease in volume and descend, leading to a flattened appearance and the formation of the dreaded jowls. Other areas affected by atrophied fat pads include the temples, which can lead to a bony, gaunt appearance.(1) Dermal fillers can provide a temporary boost of volume to these areas, however, the results are fleeting. Fat is currently considered the gold-standard for volume restoration because it is readily available, offers natural-looking results, and is longer-lasting than synthetic dermal fillers. Transferred fat also contains valuable growth factors that can have a regenerative effect in the treatment area. However, not all patients care to undergo fat removal, and not all transferred fat cells survive the procedure, which can lead to final results that are lacking. (2)
Benefits of Renuva
Renuva was developed in response to the demand for a ready-to-use, off-the-shelf product that lets patients avoid the discomfort of fat extraction and the risk of complications that this involves. Unlike fat transfers, which are autologous, that is, come from the patient’s own body, Renuva is allogenic, derived from consenting donors, and is purified and processed before being injected into patients. This injectable product is FDA-approved and referred to as an allograft adipose matrix, or AAM, because it has the structure necessary for the formation of new, healthy fat cells, in addition to supporting skin health.
RENUVA IS VERSATILE
Renuva can be used in many areas that have lost volume as a result of the aging process, but it can also be used to correct contour irregularities. Dr. Wallach regularly performs revision procedures for patients unsatisfied with the results they’ve received elsewhere.
After Liposuction: If you’ve been left with contour deformities from overtreatment after liposuction, you’re not alone. Overaggressive or inadequate fat removal during liposuction can result in lumps or bumps in the remaining fat, but Renuva can help. Careful injection of Renuva can create smoother results because it works with the fat you have.
After Breast Augmentation: Renuva can be injected to mask the appearance of rippling caused by synthetic breast implants placed during a breast augmentation. It’s also a tool that can be used to fine-tune the curves of the breasts, such as in order to improve cleavage or to correct asymmetry.
For Cellulite: Renuva can be used to fill in the dimples that are the hallmark of cellulite. The time and expense of a fat transfer are often too daunting a commitment for those looking to simply smooth small areas. Renuva is a faster, more affordable alternative with lasting results.
WHAT AREAS CAN RENUVA TREAT?
Renuva can be used anywhere fat naturally occurs in the body, and can be used to eliminate deficiencies and correct contour irregularities. It’s also a way to reduce the appearance of recessed scars. Renuva can:
- Add volume to the cheeks
- Fill in hollowed temples and nasolabial folds
- Rejuvenate the neck and decolletage
- Improve the appearance of aged hands
- Enhance the buttocks
- Reduce hip dips for smoother curves
- Fill in dimpling caused by cellulite
Renuva’s efficacy has been documented in multiple clinical studies. Currently, Renuva is only available from select physicians, and Dr. Wallach is one of the few in Manhattan offering this treatment. To learn more, make an appointment for a personal consultation by calling (212) 861-6400.

Personal Consultation
Your appointment with Dr. Wallach is an opportunity to learn more about whether Renuva is right for you, and to explore all your options for volume restoration. After reviewing your medical history and learning more about your goals, Dr. Wallach will examine the areas that you’d like to enhance. It’s important to keep in mind that Renuva is only for use in areas that have existing fat, so Dr. Wallach may recommend an alternative depending on your needs and anatomy. If Renuva is right for you, Dr. Wallach will design a personalized treatment plan so that you’ll have a better idea of how many injection sessions may be needed, and when you can anticipate enjoying your final results.
Preparation and Procedure
Renuva is a quick injectable, so there’s not much to worry about before your injection appointment. Being in good health, hydrated, and avoiding NSAIDs and alcohol will ensure that you have a smooth session with minimal bruising. If you’ve had injectables before, your Renuva appointment will be a walk in the park! The area you’ve chosen to treat will be cleansed and prepped for injection with a topical anesthetic to ensure your comfort. The Renuva will be prepared and placed in syringes. Dr. Wallach will then carefully inject the treatment area, taking care to dispense even amounts for a smooth, symmetrical effect. Once Dr. Wallach is finished, so are you, and you’re free to return to your day. In the meantime, Renuva is plumping the treatment area and creating the network for the formation of new, healthy fat cells and a revitalized appearance. As with any injectable, minor swelling, soreness, or redness is normal and dissipates quickly.
Results
You’ll notice a subtle increase in volume immediately following your Renuva injections, However, the real results are in the making. Renuva’s adipose matrix acts forms a honeycomb-like structure, and the vital collagen, growth factors, and other vital regenerative elements that the formula contains stimulate the body to produce additional fat cells in the treatment area. Results are typically visible around three months after injection, at which point you may opt to return to Dr. Wallach’s office for additional injections to accentuate your results.
Over time, the Renuva matrix is naturally reabsorbed by the body, leaving your own healthy fat cells in place, which will behave like the rest of the fat on your body.
How Much Does Renuva Cost in New York City?
The total cost of your treatment with Renuva will depend on the areas you decide to treat, the amount of Renuva required, and the number of injection sessions necessary to achieve your desired effect. You’ll be given an estimate for the price of treatment with Renuva following your personal consultation.
