New York City Thigh Lift – What you need to know

A thigh lift, also known as lower body lift, is recommended for patients who aim to tighten sagging and loose skin in the buttocks, hips, outer thighs, anterior thighs, and posterior thighs. Dr. Steven Wallach is a Manhattan plastic surgeon who performs different Manhattan thigh lift techniques, tailoring them for each client’s needs and preferences.

 Are You an Ideal Candidate?

You are an ideal candidate for a lower body lift in New York City if you have:

  • huge amount of loose skin in the buttocks, hips and the front, side or back of your thighs

  • loose skin in the lower abdominal area

  • you just experienced massive weight loss

  • you are comfortable with the appearance of thin scars around your waist

Advantages of Manhattan Lower Body Lift

A lower body lift have the following advantages:

  • multiple areas in the lower body area could be operated at once

  • could be combined with liposuction and breast/arm contouring procedures in Mommy Makeovers

  • tightening could be extended into the lower back, front, and side of thighs

Quick Recovery Tips

It takes around 4 to 6 weeks post-surgery for you to be able to resume to normal activities right away. For a quick recovery following a lower body lift, consider the following tips:

  • Wear your compression garments religiously. These garments will help reduce swelling, flatten skin, and support suspended tissues.

  • Take extra care of your sutures. They will be removed probably two weeks post-procedure.

  • Monitor your surgical drains. Drains are put in place to collect fluids which could accumulate near the incision area. Once the output is low enough, you can then make arrangements to have them removed.

  • Patients who just had a lower body lift procedure are encouraged to walk a day or two post-procedure. This is to avoid complications associated with lack of mobility.
