If you’ve spent a lot of time considering getting facial fillers, but you are worried about the recovery time associated with them, it’s fairly simply— it involves the three I’s: ice, ibuprofen, and immediate rest. Whether you are opting for fillers around your eyes such as Botox or fillers around your mouth in order to get rid of those smile lines like Restylane, there are fillers for just every part of your face. No matter whether you opt to receive fillers at the top or bottom part of your face, it’s important to get the proper time and treatment in order to help your face heal as quickly as possible.
- Ice
Often times after you receive a filler, the injection site and the area that is directly surrounding the injection site will swell. That’s why it’s important to ice your injection site immediately after you receive the filler. The icing will not only help to reduce the swelling involved with fillers but it will also help to alleviate any pain or discomfort that’s associated with getting fillers.
- Ibuprofen
If you experience a small amount of bruising and/or pain after you receive fillers, take a small dose of Ibuprofen in order to lower swelling and cut the pain at the same time. If the swelling and pain persists after a few days after you receive your fillers, you may be having an allergic reaction that needs to seek some medical attention.
- Immediate Rest
If you are a gym rat and just can’t seem to spend a day away from the treadmill and bench press, take into consideration that your body needs rest in order to fully recuperate after you receive fillers. Although exercise is one of the key components to living a healthy lifestyle, giving your body a rest from exercise will help your face to heal fairly fast.
