How Does Local Anesthesia Work?
General anesthesia will put the patient into a deep sleep. However, with local anesthesia, there is no deep sleep. The patient is given medication to help them relax, and the anesthesia will numb only the treatment area. During treatment, most patients will feel some pressure and occasional irritation.
