Liposuction is a great procedure for those who are trying to get rid of problem areas like upper thighs, the arms, and the stomach area. As a fairly straight forward procedure, after a few weeks you will start to notice results and be in awe with your new and improved body. However, just because you are now done with this weight-loss procedure, it doesn’t mean that the work is over just yet. In order to not only maintain your liposuction results, but enhance them as well, make sure that you are doing tightening and toning workouts every day. Pilates As a great way to tighten and tone your body, Pilates uses small, repetitive movements to help give your muscles a leaner and more toned approach. For example, if you recently had liposuction done on your upper arms, Pilates is a great way to maintain the weight loss and work on obtaining long, lean muscles. In fact, celebrities like Madonna (who is known for her thin, muscly arms) love Pilates and the results it gives them. Light Weights Whether you opt for free weights like dumbbells or you prefer to workout your leg muscles by doing the leg press, by doing light weights multiple times a week, you can help to keep any excess weight off that might creep up post-surgery, and you can help to give your body a toned look all over. When first starting to lift weights, start small. Although you might think you’re weak next to the person working out next to you, starting with heavy weights is a sure way to get injured. Doing less weight and more repetitions, will help you to get toned quickly without adding any excess bulk. Sit-Ups If you got liposuction on your stomach, sit-ups are your best friend. Once cleared by your doctor to start doing abdominal workouts, start by doing 3 sets up 15 sit-ups every night before bed and then slowly work up to 3 sets of 50. Not only will sit-ups help you to keep off any weight that might cling to your middle, but it will also help you reveal your abdominal muscles in a way you didn’t think was possible. Remember that liposuction isn’t the end of the road for weight loss. Although it is a huge step towards your idea weight, it is still important to make sure that you tighten and tone your muscles, so that you can have a better and healthier you.
