Radiesse, which is a semipermanent type of dermal filler, is one of the few treatments that can address the signs of aging.

The wonders of Radiesse

Dermal fillers generally reduce the wrinkles and lines that form around one’s face. Radiesse, in particular, aims to smooth out those lines that form around the nose and mouth. Not only that, it also adds contours to some parts of the face that might have lost shape because of drooping of the skin, like the jawline and the cheeks. What makes Radiesse different from other facial fillers is its ability to stimulate new collagen growth. Collagen is the natural protein found in the skin that is responsible for giving it a smooth feel and youthful elasticity. Radiesse is a gel composed of synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite. It works by allowing the body to absorb the gel and leave the calcium hydroxylapatite behind. This encourages the body to fill the space left behind by the gel with the body’s natural collagen.

How effective is it?

Some doctors, when administering facial fillers, tend to overfill a certain area of the face to allow the effects of the treatment to last longer knowing that the body will be able to absorb the filler immediately. In the case of Radiesse, however, those areas of the face do not need to be overfilled.
